ANCIENT HISTORY: A cave with 40,000-year-old rock paintings: Located 1,500 km from Ulaanbaatar, the western province of Khovd is home to diverse ethnic groups who have harmoniously coexisted with nature for centuries. These include the Khalh, Durvud, Uuld, Kazakh, Myngad, Bayad, Uriankhai, Zakhchin, Torguud, and Khoshuud peoples.
LANDS OF ETHNICITY: Step into the life of Mongolia’s legendary nomadic warriors, descendants of Chinggis Khaan’s nine great generals, including Zeljme and Subedei. Experience the authentic lifestyle of Khovd’s multi-ethnic nomadic families—how the Zakhchin and Uriankhai herders live in harmony with nature, their livestock, and the wilderness. Witness firsthand the distinct traditions, cultures, and daily lives of various ethnic groups.
For a truly exclusive experience, you will be treated to performances of UNESCO-listed Intangible Cultural Heritage originating from Khovd, including throat singing (Khöömei), epic storytelling (Tuuli), jaw harp music (Tsuur), traditional dance (Bii Biyelgee), and Uriankhai archery.

AUTHENTIC NOMADIC CUISINE: Enjoy professionally prepared meals featuring organic, additive-free meat from sheep and cattle that graze on the mineral-rich pastures of the Altai Mountains throughout the summer. These nutrient-packed dishes are designed to nourish your health and boost your immunity.
NATURE & SEASONS: Autumn in Mongolia—especially in Khovd—is a season of abundance and generosity, where nature provides everything for herders and their livestock like a nurturing mother. It is also a time when the hardworking locals harvest their crops, grown with care in Mongolia’s rich soil. Their gazes reflect deep gratitude for nature and unwavering resilience in preparing for the long winter ahead.
One of the most breathtaking sights in autumn is Khar Us Lake, a specially protected area known for its rich biodiversity. As part of the Great Lakes Basin, this pristine ecosystem is home to rare plants, migratory birds, and endangered mammals, making it a paradise for nature lovers.
